Description

The re-dedication of Bob Gamble Park and the official opening of River Heart Parklands Stage 2 was held on 14 October 2012.

New features within Bob Gamble Park (River Heart Parklands - Stage 2) include:

  • zero-depth water park
  • extensive play equipment, including a spider web style climbing frame
  • 25-metre flying fox
  • football field-sized 'Discovery Forest' incorporating features like forts, a bridge across a dry creek bed, carved wooden totems and balance beams.

The park has been designed to ensure Ipswich residents can take advantage of the great outdoors. The new boardwalk will be an advantage to walkers, joggers, cyclists and others on the move.  It also allows people to view the Bremer River from a different vantage point.
