The future is calling for Ipswich

03 September 2021

One thousand residents will have their say on Council’s performance, access to facilities, and transport infrastructure as the organisation conducts a phone survey to track Ipswich’s progress towards its 20-year community vision.

Council has engaged Queensland market research company Market Facts to conduct the phone survey, to coincide with open online consultation on iFuture: Your vision, our journey, Council’s plan.

Mayor Teresa Harding said all Councillors are looking forward to bringing more residents’ and ratepayers’ views into the planning process.

“Our vision is squarely on the long-term, in leading a thriving, inclusive and sustainable city with opportunities tailored to our community,” Mayor Harding said.

“Delivering on this plan by 2041 means listening to our residents and ratepayers now and understanding your views on key issues that impact on the future of Ipswich.”

Deputy Mayor Nicole Jonic said feedback from residents will help council track the progress of important programs and services to the community.

iFuture provides a way to be transparent about what Council is working towards and how we plan to harness the city’s growth to benefit everyone who lives in our community,” Cr Jonic said.

“Everyone can play a role in our city’s future, and by completing the survey participants can shape the future decisions around programs and services that matter most to them.”

The survey takes approximately ten minutes to complete, with many questions being a simple rating scale. All survey responses are confidential, and Council will share an overview of answers and feedback after the survey closes.

The survey is open now until 20 September 2021 and Council wants to hear from all Ipswich residents.
