Christmas in Ipswich gifting festive family fun to Division 2

29 November 2022

Spectacular suburban wonderlands, Christmas carol sing-alongs, fleets of merry performers and so much more are planned for Division 2 as part of council’s annual Christmas in Ipswich program.

Division 2 Councillor Nicole Jonic said the city’s celebrations will include free events and activities from Springfield to Goodna and every suburb across the division.

“There are nine free and low-cost family friendly events for residents, including one specifically for their pets, in Division 2 to come together in goodwill and joy,” Cr Jonic said.

“There are also plenty of opportunities to sing your favourite Christmas carols with great events planned for the Robelle Domain and Goodna.”

Division 2 Councillor Paul Tully said council will soon publish a list the best displays as part of the City of Ipswich Christmas Lights Competition so families can easily plan their route to see incredible suburban light wonderlands and north pole characters.

“Santa on Tour will also light up local suburbs as the merry fleet cruises through Division 2 communities on 16 December, stopping at parks and community locations to spread festive cheer with help from rural fire service personnel,” Cr Tully said.

“After festive street parties, a special ballet performance and Letters to Santa at Springfield Central Library, Division 2 will welcome the new year with mighty fireworks display in Springfield Central.”
