More businesses prepare to open in Nicholas Street Precinct

Ipswich’s revitalised Nicholas Street Precinct continues to hit its stride with the first wave of new businesses preparing to open their doors later this month.
Just in time for school holiday events in Tulmur Place, artisan gelato maker and eatery Gelatissimo will open their doors as the precinct’s newest dining offerings, while long-time CBD business Terry White Chemmart will celebrate opening its new premises.
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding welcomed this next exciting stage of revitalising Ipswich Central.
“We look forward to welcoming these businesses to their prime new locations in the Nicholas Street Precinct” Mayor Harding said.
“This is another positive sign that innovative thinkers are backing the Ipswich Central revival.
“The Nicholas Street Precinct is providing new opportunities for businesses as well as giving residents more places to dine, shop and meet friends close to home.”
Ipswich Central Redevelopment Committee Chairperson Councillor Marnie Doyle said she was excited to see these businesses open for trading in the redeveloped Nicholas Street Precinct.
“Gelatissimo will join as a new eatery alongside Terry White Chemmart, which provides a valuable health service to offer residents more choice in their CBD,” Cr Doyle said.
“This is just the beginning, with Zambrero, That Dumpling Place and Sushi Hyo opening their doors in coming months, and we look forward to making more announcements for additional neighbouring tenants in the hub very soon.”
Terry White Chemmart owner Robert Slater said relocating further down the precinct and closer to Tulmur Place was an easy choice to make.
“We wanted to continue our long tradition of ensuring an accessible health service in the heart of the city for Ipswich residents and this new store will be larger and located closer to carparks and public transport,” Mr Slater said.
Gelatissimo CEO Filipe Barbosa said the gelato store would bring new taste experiences and was the perfect complement to existing businesses.
“We are thrilled to become part of the Nicholas Street hub and to bring our huge range of gelato flavours to suit all tastes including vegan, reduced sugar and deluxe range,” Mr Barbosa said
