Division 4 guide to Christmas in Ipswich events and activities

21 November 2023

The wrapping is off this year’s Christmas in Ipswich program, promising plenty of good tidings across the city and in Division 4.

Deputy Mayor and Division 4 Councillor Russell Milligan said there were fun and festive activities for everyone in the division.

“The Christmas spirit starts this Friday on 24 November with one of Ipswich’s longest running and most loved community Christmas carols events, Brassall Christmas in the Park at Sutton Park,” Deputy Mayor Milligan said.

“The event features local Ipswich performers backed by an outstanding 30-piece orchestra, along with Santa, food trucks and a fantastic fireworks finale.

“With fun for the whole family, this event is sure to brighten up your festive season.”

Division 4 Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said there were plenty of other great activities in Division 4.

“The Soul Nook Collective Christmas Markets in Marburg on 25 November is a great day out with something for everyone,” Cr Kunzelmann said.

“Then on 2 December there’s the Marburg Christmas Carnival and on 15 December there’s the Rosewood Christmas Festival, two fantastic events packed full of fun and entertainment.

“Last, but certainly not least, is the Marburg Community Carols Evening on 17 December. It’s the last chance for carolling with the community in Division 4.”

This year’s Christmas in Ipswich program includes some new offerings such as open-air movie screenings in Tulmur Place in the Nicholas Street Precinct in Ipswich Central.

Plenty of festive favourites are also returning, including the popular St Nicholas Precinct light display in the Nicholas Street Precinct and Letters to Santa at Ipswich Libraries branches across the city.

The citywide Christmas lights competition is on again, as well as Christmas lights tours and there will be New Year’s Eve celebrations to welcome in 2024 at Tivoli Drive-in at Chuwar.
