Ipswich City Council has partnered with Mainstreet Australia to launch a new Shopfront Savvy event to help businesses improve their understanding of the local market and elevate their business knowledge.
The event, held during Queensland Small Business Month, will allow businesses to meet industry experts, hear tips and advice and provide tools for growth and success.
Economic and Industry Development Committee Chairperson Councillor Nicole Jonic said Shopfront Savvy will help support local businesses to stay competitive.
“This program will give local businesses access to high calibre expert knowledge and it is exciting to see our region as the first place to host a MainStreet Streetshow event in Queensland,” Cr Jonic said.
"Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy and we want to do everything we can to help them succeed.
“The program will delve into data that is specific to our region and give insight on how to maximise doing business across Ipswich”.
Shopfront Savvy is a one-off event held on 16 May and will include dinner, a Q&A panel discussion with industry experts followed by a breakout session to workshop key issues and opportunities.
The experts will cover topics on creating effective digital marketing strategies, improving digital presence on websites and social media, enhancing customer service skills, boosting profiles and elevating brands.
The program draws on the knowledge and business know-how from industry experts:
Cr Jonic said the calibre of industry talent is set to impress and the program is more than just an information session but rather one to connect and share experiences.
“While there is a large focus on being business savvy and learning new skills there are also opportunities to network with others,” Cr Jonic said.
“Everyone has a story to tell with their unique businesses and what makes events like this so valuable is you can hear from other like-minded individuals and share experiences over a common interest.
“The market can be extremely competitive and with expected growth over the coming years it’ll be well worth it to make connections across all areas of business and offer support to fellow businesspeople in the community.”
The event is free and open to all businesses and businesspeople operating in the Ipswich local government area.
