Learn how to keep bees, ride a bike with ease, recycle like a pro, or eat the things you grow – all this and more will be on offer during this year’s Sustainable Ipswich celebrations.
Ipswich City Council Environment and Sustainability Committee Chairperson Councillor Jim Madden said September and October would be full of free and low-cost workshops and activities on a range of sustainable lifestyle topics.
“Sustainable Ipswich features many local champions – it’s a great opportunity to learn from the best and be inspired to take your lifestyle to the next level,” Cr Madden said.
“From growing your own food, to rediscovering the joy of riding, to saving money with homemade cleaning products, to creating habitat with native plants, there’s a workshop or event for everyone.”
Cr Madden said the Ipswich Sustainable Living Festival on Saturday 18 October in Tulmur Place would once again be a highlight of the Sustainable Ipswich program.
“This year the festival will be brimming with inspiration, free workshops and practical demonstrations. Don’t miss the opportunity to find the best and brightest in one place,” Cr Madden said.
Cr Madden said Sustainable Ipswich was an annual celebration of everyday actions we can take as a community to create a more liveable city.
“By working together, we can protect and enhance our environment and its liveability for current and future generations,” Cr Madden said.
