Burial and Related Services
Death care services for all cemeteries in Ipswich are managed by Ipswich Cemeteries (Norwood Park Limited) and include:

Burial Sites and Gardens
Headstones
- Applications to install headstones require a permit - please contact Ipswich Cemeteries for an application.
- Placement fees apply for headstones not purchased through Ipswich Cemeteries (placement fee is included in the price if purchased through Ipswich Cemeteries).
Plaques
- Applications to install plaques require a permit - please contact Ipswich Cemeteries for an application.
- A large range of cast bronze plaques are available for viewing and purchase through Ipswich Cemeteries.
- Placement fees apply for plaques not purchased through Ipswich Cemeteries (placement fee is included in the price if purchased through Ipswich Cemeteries)
Vases
- A maximum of two vases are permitted on each grave.
- Vases must not be made of breakable material (such as glass or ceramics).
- Plastic vases are available for free at cemeteries (except Ipswich General Cemetery).
Flowers
- Fresh flowers are permitted on graves.
- Artificial flowers may be permitted (subject to approval by Ipswich Cemeteries) provided they are in an approved vase and effectively secured to the vase.
- Artificial flowers showing signs of fading, deterioration or damage may be removed by staff at their discretion.
Ornaments
- Placement of ornaments, garden edging or other materials are not permitted on graves or gardens and all such items will be removed by staff and held for collection for two months.
- Nursery baskets (for infant graves only) are available for purchase and placement of memorial items in these baskets will not contravene relevant cemetery rules.

Cemetery Search
- A cemetery search can be conducted by Ipswich Cemeteries to provide location and details of family burials.
- Contact Ipswich Cemeteries to arrange - search fees apply.
Bereavement Services
- The Friends of the Cemeteries provides a forum for people with loved ones buried or inurned at Ipswich Cemeteries.
- Meetings are held quarterly and advertised in the public notice section of the Queensland Times up to two weeks prior to a meeting.
