Free kerbside collection commencing Barellan Point, Karalee and North Tivoli

It’s time to clean out the spare room or under the house as Ipswich City Council’s free large item kerbside collection begins on 24 January 2022 for one week for Barellan Point, Karalee and North Tivoli.

Growth, Waste and Infrastructure Committee Chairperson Mayor Teresa Harding said this free large item kerbside collection assists Ipswich residents in disposing of unwanted items not suitable for their household general waste or recycling wheelie bins.

“Collection teams will be moving though each Ipswich suburb over the next six months passing about 86,603 households.

“From 24 January, teams will be in Barellan Point, Karalee and North Tivoli.”

Ipswich City Council 2021 kerbside collection schedule: Week 2 – beginning Monday 24 January 2022.

Suburbs: Barellan Point, Karalee and North Tivoli.

Kerbside collection guidelines are:

  • items do not exceed two cubic metres in volume (one small box trailer)
  • items can be easily and safely lifted by two people
  • no sharp or dangerous objects are placed on kerbside
  • piles are tidy on the kerbside and roadway is kept clear
  • doors are removed from cupboards
  • outdoor play equipment is to be dismantled.

Read the guidelines on what is an acceptable item to put on the footpath as only acceptable items will be collected.

Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, household appliances, carpet, lino, bath and laundry tubs, bicycles, outdoor play equipment.

Residents should place items on the kerb by the weekend before their scheduled collection commencement date, but not more than seven days prior.
