Council provides funding for non-profit and community-based organisations through the Community, Cultural and Economic Development Department in the areas of community and cultural development that enables council to form partnerships with community-based organisations for projects that may not receive funding from other sources.

Such projects are to have a community development focus that addresses community needs, encourages the development of skills within the community and leads to enhancement of community life and well-being of Ipswich residents.

Additionally, Ipswich City Council supports cultural organisations and individuals through sponsorships, grants and masterclasses that enable the community to develop and showcase its cultural skills and promote a sense of pride in cultural activities and heritage.

Local artists and cultural organisations can apply for to the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) for short-term one-off projects which will increase active participation in community life. View the Ipswich City Council Community Funding and Support Policy (PDF, 620.0 KB)
