Indigenous Affairs (Prime Minister and Cabinet)
On 18 September 2013, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet became the responsible agency for the majority of Indigenous policies, programmes and service delivery. Indigenous affairs are a significant priority for the Government, which will establish a new engagement and partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
There is now a dedicated Indigenous Affairs Minister in Cabinet, Senator the Hon Nigel Scullion, and Parliamentary Secretary, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, will assist the Prime Minister.
