Over the next decade, the population in the corridor between Ipswich Central and Springfield Central is projected to grow from approximately 95,000 to over 163,000. By 2036, this area is projected to have a total population of almost 259,0004. The Ipswich Central to Springfield Central Public Transport Corridor Report examines new transit-oriented development where current and future high residential densities and mixed land use developments support high frequency services and accessibility. The project is a priority piece of infrastructure for the region, providing a critical connection between three regional activity centres that will strengthen the ongoing growth and development of the area.
