Summary 2023-2024 Budget

Council’s 2023-2024 Budget is a measured, responsible budget with a rate rise under inflation amid major economic pressures.

On average council has delivered a below inflation rate rise, across the past five years.

The daily impacts of rising costs of living on Ipswich residents was front of mind during council’s preparation of this year’s budget.

The $692.6 million budget includes $267.2 million for capital works including $75 million for flood recovery projects and more than $70 million in operational and capital expenditure to deliver the city’s waste management and resource recovery programs.
