Ipswich City Council is committed to providing the community with open and transparent access to information in relation to its services, activities and business operations and is working to:

The Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) aim to make more information available, provide equal access to information across all sections of the community and provide appropriate protection for individual privacy.

Disclosure Logs

Non-personal information released to applicants under the Act will be progressively published via the disclosure log and marked as 'available'. In other cases, a general description of the enquiry will be provided, however access to these documents will not be available (Personal).

  • The RTI Act gives you the right to access and amend information held by public sector agencies in Queensland, unless there is a good reason for it not to be provided.
  • You have the right to access your personal information held by government under the IP Act.
  • You have the right to access personal and non-personal information held by government under the RTI Act.

To be able to assess our performance in complying with the RTI and IP Acts to achieve the primary objective of the Act which is:  “to give a right of access to information in the government’s possession or under the government’s control unless, on balance, it is contrary to the public interest to give the access”; Council has established performance measures, which are reported quarterly to Council, stated in our Annual Report and updated to this page quarterly:
