Riverview Recycling and Refuse Centre (RRC) is undergoing upgrades to the green waste area during 2024. Normal operating hours will remain during works, however there will be some temporary changes to drop-off locations of green waste, untreated timber, concrete and dirt. Gatehouse staff, signage and an updated map will provide information on these changes.

Ipswich Waste Services operates two Recycle and Refuse Centres for the disposal of general waste and a range of recyclable materials.

Hints and Tips for Loading Trailers

When you're packing your vehicle and/or trailer for a trip to your local waste facility, group similar materials together.

By taking a little extra time to sort your load before you leave home, you can save yourself plenty of time when you arrive at the Recycling and Refuse Centre. Consider which areas you will need to visit and load your vehicle/trailer accordingly. The last item in your vehicle/trailer will be the first to be unloaded.

Please see page two (2) of the Riverview Recycling and Refuse Centre brochure (PDF, 1.4 MB).

Domestic waste ute and trailer examples

Domestic waste fees will be based on a weight threshold listed in councils Fees and Charges Register.

Council understands it can be difficult to estimate weights when you go to the Recycling and Refuse Centre, so we provide the following guidance to assist customers with indicative weights of their loads, for example trailer sizes, to help understand any possible charges at the Recycling and Refuse Centre.

Please note that this information is a guide only and every load is different, any and all charges will be based on the weights as calculated by council at the Recycling and Refuse Centre.
